Rock Voices Brattleboro winter concert on Jan. 9

BRATTLEBORO-Join director Bob Thies and Rock Voices Brattleboro, a community rock choir, for an evening of choral music. The concert will be held at Centre Congregational Church, 193 Main St., Friday, Jan. 9, at 7:30 p.m.

Rock Voices is backed by a full, professional rock band. Harmonies of Tony Lechner’s arrangements are sung by a 100-voice choir.

This season’s songs are all Rock Voices greatest hits, including songs by Ozzy Osbourne, James Taylor, Adele, The Beach Boys, Supertramp, The Bangles, and Cyndi Lauper.

“Rock Voices represents everything that is wonderful about the greater Brattleboro area,” wrote organizers in a news release: “a sense of community, a love of music, and a desire to share that joy with others.”

The spring session will begin in early February. Interested singers should visit Rockvoices.com to sign up for their official mailing list and to be notified when registration opens.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. Admission prices are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for students. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge. Tickets are available online at Eventbrite and may also be available at the door.

There will also be a basket raffle to raise money for the Putney Foodshelf.
