BRATTLEBORO-The Feb. 10 panel regarding Representative Town Meeting and alternatives exemplified the benefits of coming together for an open, frank discussion, providing a forum for community members to inform and be informed, to listen and to learn. And yes, I heard new viewpoints and learned from them.
As our current government relies on sound bites and polarization, dividing us for the purpose of creating discord and misunderstanding, I believe it is crucial that we maintain all opportunities for civil discourse, community engagement, and efforts toward collaboration and understanding.
Therefore I support the continuation of Representative Town Meeting or, as an alternative, open Town Meeting.
