Indeed. Vermont's House of Representatives has been controlled since 2004 by the Democratic party and its Senate for 30 years, since Democrats took over in 1996.
Millionaire Bernie Sanders, a so-called independent who votes with Democrats, has been in office since 1991.
While Republican governor Phil Scott has been in office for 10 years, how many times have Democrats overridden his vetoes? How much has Scott really been able to accomplish with Democratic opposition at every turn?
I agree that for Vermont, the status quo isn't working. The question is, who represents the status quo? And what are Vermonters going to do about it?
