BRATTLEBORO-Sarasa Music will perform pieces rediscovered in an old cabinet in Germany Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Brattleboro Music Center (BMC), 72 Blanche Moyse Way.
The ensemble will include tenor Richard Pittsinger, whom The New York Times has praised for his “winning singing and youthful bearing.”
Most of the works featured in Schrank II ~ Cabinet II — pieces by Händel, Vivaldi, Lully, Campra, Locatelli, Telemann, and Pisendel — were tucked away for a hundred years before being rediscovered, organizers said. But the night will also include a world premiere piece by New York City-based composer Rebecca Scout Nelson.
Nelson will perform on violin, as will Susanna Ogata, Nelli Jabotinsky, and Emily Dahl Irons, who will also play viola. Jennifer Morsches and Timothy Merton will be on cello, with John McKean on harpsichord.
