Stand-up comedians Vermont Comedy All-Stars to perform Sept. 25

PUTNEY-Vermont Comedy All-Stars will perform Friday, Sept. 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Next Stage Arts, 15 Kimball Hill Rd. Featured stand-up comedians will be producer and host Gordon Clark as well as Chris Dolan, Tim Lovett, Toni Nagy, and Kane Thomley.

Dolan is a former high school teacher whose academic specialty was the rise of fascism in modern Europe. She left her teaching career to do stand-up because “she wanted to feel that her work mattered,” according to organizers. Dolan brings “a Long Islander’s sensibility” to the stage, according to a news release.

Lovett is the founder of Comedy as a Weapon, a production company supporting local comedians, and the owner of the Chuckling Charlie Comedy Bus. He has performed at New York City’s Broadway Comedy Club, Mohegan Sun Casino, and Funny Bone Comedy Club.

In addition to her stand-up comedy, Nagy “is most known for her viral videos, where she interpretive dances her philosophies while pontificating, gyrating, and questioning culture,” according to her website, toninagy.com. Nagy “pairs bold commentary with an irreverent stage presence,” the news release said.

Originally from Alabama and now based in Burlington, Thomley has performed at the Vermont Comedy Festival and has hosted for national headliners including Dulcé Sloan, Emily Catalano, and Maddy Smith at Vermont Comedy Club.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $15 at nextstagearts.org or $20 at the door.
