Crafts, chowders, and more than 200 apple pies to bedeck Heritage Festival

NEWFANE-The Newfane Heritage Festival returns to venues around the village’s historic district Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 10 and 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

More than 65 juried artists and craftspeople will display and sell their work in the tents set up on the town common, and both breakfast and lunch will be served under a big tent in front of Newfane Church, 11 Church St.

Newfane Heritage Festival memorabilia and cookbooks will be for sale, and approximately 175 items will be raffled, according to a news release, including “quilts, art pieces, homemade crafts, and gift certificates to local establishments and businesses.”

In addition to more than 200 apple pies for sale — both whole and by the slice — the menu will include breakfast sandwiches, doughnuts, chowders, lobster rolls, pumpkin cake, apple crisp, locally made ice cream, and hot and cold apple cider.

The festival takes place rain or shine, and proceeds will go to Newfane Church. For more information, visit sites.google.com/view/newfane-heritage-festival or call the church at 802-365-4079.
