Latchis to screen ‘schlock’ thriller ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?’

BRATTLEBORO-A Halloween-themed fundraiser Saturday, Oct. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Latchis Theatre, 50 Main St., will culminate in a screening of the 1962 psychological thriller What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

The event, which is part of the theater’s Schlock It To Me! film series, will include a cash bar hosted by Sages pub, with a “bespoke Schlocktail themed to the film,” according to a news release. There will also be “a pre-feature program of schlocky shorts and vintage exploitation trailers,” organizers said.

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? stars rival actors Bette Davis and Joan Crawford and was directed by Robert Aldrich. The news release describes the film as having a “notorious reputation” due to rumors of an “off-screen feud” and classifies the work as “part horror, part Gothic melodrama, part black comedy, part Hollywood satire.”

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. More information is available at latchis.com.
