‘Oh Give Us a Song’: Concert to honor legacy of Peter Amidon

BRATTLEBORO-Oh Give Us a Song: A Tribute Concert to Celebrate the Music of Peter Amidon will be held Monday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. at the Latchis Theatre, 50 Main St.

Performers at the concert, which will feature choral arrangements by the late Peter Amidon (1949–2025), include the Amidon-Bodé family, the Hallowell Singers, the vocal octet West Willow, pianist Adam Podd, guitarist and singer Keith Murphy, and fiddler Becky Tracy.

In collaboration with his wife, Mary Alice Amidon, Peter was also a folk singer, dance leader, storyteller, and music educator who led multiple community choirs.

The couple held concerts and taught classes that “introduced thousands of teachers and children throughout the United States and beyond to traditional dance and song in the classroom,” organizers said in a news release.

Tickets are by donation ($20 suggested) at app.arts-people.com/?show=366317, and proceeds will benefit the theater’s nonprofit owner, Latchis Arts.
