The Guardian recently named “Northern Borders,” based on Howard Frank Mosher's award-winning 2002 novel of the same name, a “Top Ten Book Featuring Grandparents,” putting it in the company of Charles Dickens' “Great Expectations” and Roald Dahl's “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
The picture, starring Bruce Dern, Geneviève Bujold, Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick, and Jessica Hecht, tells the story of 10-year-old Austen Kittredge, who is sent to live on his grandparents' Kingdom County farm, where he has wild adventures and uncovers dark family secrets.
“Northern Borders” was produced as the result of a partnership between Craven's non-profit Kingdom County Productions and Marlboro College, where Craven teaches film. For more information, visit www.Movies.Marlboro.edu or write Craven at jcraven@marlboro.edu.
