Vermont Vaudeville comes to NEYT

BRATTLEBORO — Vermont Vaudeville, the Northeast Kingdom-based company specializing in cutting-edge variety entertainment, is touring Vermont this winter - and landing on the New England Youth Theatre stage on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m.

The troupe is funded in part by a grant from the Vermont Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts and support from Vermont Public Radio.

Vermont Vaudeville has produced shows at the majestic Hardwick Town House, a community-run venue in the heart of Hardwick, since 2009, and has built a reputation for spectacular variety entertainment.

Every performance features an eclectic blend of performing styles and skills and is infused with live music, circus stunts, and audience interaction.

Founding members Rose Friedman, Justin Lander, and Brent and Maya McCoy combine a wealth of talent and years of experience to make every production professional, original, and unique. They each showcase a variety of skills, from music and juggling to pantomime and improvisation.

Also featured in every show: rowdy Vermont Vaudeville gorilla roustabout, Goddard College professor, and pianist Otto Muller, and multi-instrumentalist powerhouse Geoff Goodhue.

The show at NEYT also features the antics of Gould & Stearns (“the Clown Jewels of Vermont”) and John and Rebecca Higby, a husband and wife duo who have Yo-Yoed their way repeatedly into the Guinness World Records and on CBS's “Late Show With David Letterman.”
