BRATTLEBORO — Witness local “celebrities” showcasing their dance skills while supporting a great cause on Saturday, April 27, when Youth Services presents “Can Windham County Dance?”
According to a news release, the gala and dance show at SIT, from 5 to 10 p.m., is a twist on televisions' hit reality show, Dancing with the Stars.
This Youth Services event, presented by Twombly Wealth Management, offers a silent auction, a dinner prepared by A Vermont Table, and an hour-long dance show culminating in the opportunity for the audience to take the dance floor themselves with music from numerous eras played by DJ Wayne Warwick of Be Heard Sound.
“Celebrity” performers include car wash owner Connie Burton and artist Matthew Peake performing a waltz; Dr. Jesper Brickley and jewelry maker Cara Wolff doing the hustle; attorney Andrew Marchev and Physical Therapy Assistant Melissa Kuralt salsa dancing; and architects Julie Lineburger and Joseph Cincotta performing their own version of swing.
Carpenter Gershom Moore will demonstrate creeping, a form of hip hop, while business owner Francesca Bourgault performs tap. Victoria Jaenson of the Charlotte Ballet will do a modern solo; retirees Richard and Margo Langlois will perform a medley of novelty oldies, and Justin Vasselli and Sophia Marx, dance instructors/competitive dancers, will showcase their cha-cha.
