Stroll seeks volunteers for parade, weekend events

BRATTLEBORO — Strolling of the Heifers seeks volunteers for their annual Parade and Expo, Slow Living Summit, Friday Evening Festival, and Tour de Heifer, all of which will occur June 6 through 9.

Volunteers are needed in the following places/times and for the following roles:

• Slow Living Summit: “The Future of Women in Food Entrepreneurship”-Thursday and Friday, June 6 and 7. Morning or afternoon shifts. Registration table, workshop monitors.

• Specialty Food and VT Beverage Expo: Friday, June 7; 5 to 7 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the River Garden. Monitor doors and traffic flow.

• Baking Competition: Friday, June 7; 5 to 9 p.m. in the River Garden. Set up and break down, serve samples from competition.

• Parking Attendants: Friday, June 7; 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 8; 6:30 to 9 a.m. Brattleboro. Monitor entrance to vendor parking areas.

• Logistics Team: Saturday June 8; 6 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. - Small tent set-up and take-down.

• Strolling of the Heifers Parade: “Farmers Are Our Heroes”: Saturday, June 8; 7:30-11:15 a.m. Brattleboro Parade Route. Parade Marshalls, Parking Attendants, Merchandise Sales, and Clean-up/Set-up Crews.

• Waste Watchers: Friday, June 7; 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 8; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 2-hour shifts. Parade and Expo Sites. Monitor recycling and trash stations, assist with bagging and moving waste to collection sites.

• Stroll Merchandise Tents: Friday, June 7; 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 8; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Brattleboro Common and River Garden. 2-Hour-shifts. Set up, tear down, sell merchandise.

• Tour de Heifer Bike Tour: Sunday, June 9; 6:30 a.m. until end of tour. Robb Family Farm. 2-3 shifts.
