BRATTLEBORO — Beginning at 5:30 p.m. during the March 6 edition of Gallery Walk, events will take place inside and outside Epsilon Spires at 190 Main Street.
Epsilon Spires will unveil new signage in front of the building in a gesture of change and revitalization at the former Baptist Church.
“Epsilon Spires is a place that fosters social impact through art and science,” said Epsilon Spires board president David McManus. “We want to signal this new direction through innovative programming. Having our sign out front is a big step toward making ourselves known.”
Also that evening, Epsilon Spires will offer tours of five new office spaces and artists' studios on the third floor of the building. The studios are offered for rent by building owner Bob Johnson's Delta Zeta LLC.
Knowledgeable guides will be on-site to showcase the rooms and answer questions. More studios are under construction on the second level, and will be available in the spring.
Down on the first floor in the Social Engagement Salon, Epsilon Spires offers DJ Sparkles spinning vinyl, along with snacks and beverages. Video art projections by Daniel James Cashman will be displayed.
The Sanctuary will be open to experience the sounds of the Weather Warlock, using sun, wind, rain, and temperature to control an analog synthesizer.
Designed by Quintronics in New Orleans, Epsilon Spires' Weather Warlock, dubbed “Station Buttercup,” has been transmitting the immersive sounds of weather since September 2019. Look for the receiving apparatus on the front lawn.
