• Gabrielle Beal of Wilmington, a member of the Class of 2024 at College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., was inducted into Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) Honor Society, a national honor society recognizing the achievements of first-generation students, alumni, staff, faculty and administrators. Beal was one of 123 students inducted into the honor society's new chapter at Holy Cross named Delta Omicron.

• Bellows Falls Union High School announces the induction of the newest members of the Jesse A. Judd/Marilee B. Huntoon Chapter of the National Honor Society at BFUHS. Seniors inducted into the society were Tatyana Artyukhova, Ashley Bartlett, Grace Bazin, Courtni Bird, Isabella Hammond, Abbigale Hodge, and Anya Taylor. Juniors who were inducted include Jenna Dolloph, Caleb Ghia, Caden Haskell, Gavin Joy, Austin Mallan, Ashlin Maxfield, Alanah McAllister, Julianna McDermid, Gwendolyn McGrath, Jake Moore, Isabel Perry, Mary Wallace and Grace Waryas.
Transitions
• Melanie Condon was recently promoted to Vice President of Operations at Brattleboro Savings & Loan. Condon has been with BS&L for more than 26 years and has filled many roles in the bank during her career. As the new VP of Operations, Condon will manage all loan servicing done by the bank as well as leading the bank's customer service department, which handles areas such as their call center and electronic banking. The operations department also supports the front end of the bank by managing the different systems and making sure it meets regulatory requirements.

• Virginia “Ginny” Dalrymple, 85, of Brattleboro. Died April 28, 2022. She was born on July 11, 1936 in Island Pond, Vt., to Clifton and Donna (Frasier) Colburn. She graduated from Portsmouth (N.H.) High School in 1954. She married Ralph “Joe” Dalrymple in 1955; he died in 2003. Ginny was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was always sacrificing for others. For many years, she ran a daycare in her home. She became known to many as “Gram Gin.” After the death of her husband, she enjoyed traveling with her friends. She had a love of flower gardens and house plants. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of the West Brattleboro Baptist Church for 57 years. Ginny leaves behind three daughters, Wanda (Richard) Smith, Christine Gerbasi and Kim (Paul) Therrien; four grandsons, Rick and Michael Smith and Butch and Christopher Leno; two granddaughters, Rachel and Hannah Therrien; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Celia Latham; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Thomas. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Hollis Colburn, a sister, Lee Waters and two daughters who died in infancy. Memorial information: A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m. at West Brattleboro Baptist Church, with a luncheon to follow in the church's downstairs fellowship area. Graveside services will follow the luncheon in West Halifax Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. • Elizabeth Persis (Slade) Prouty, 93, of Bennington. Died April 28, 2022 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, following a brief illness. Elizabeth was born in East Jamaica on Jan. 1, 1929; she was the eldest of the children of Chester and Bertha (Sage) Slade. Growing up in the Jamaica area, she attended local schools and graduated from Leland & Gray Seminary in Townshend. In earlier years, she worked for Holstein-Friesian Association in Brattleboro. Following her marriage to Harold Prouty on March 23, 1951 in Peru, she devoted her life to raising their three children. They had celebrated 70 wonderful years together before he died on Nov. 2, 2021. Elizabeth had many hobbies and interests including gardening, both vegetable and flower, designing and sewing quilts and teddy bears, collecting teddy bears, stamps and sewing machines, going on Sunday family rides, attending her grandsons' baseball games, shopping at tag sales and loving her cats. However most of all, she cherished time with her family. She leaves her son Bruce Prouty of Bennington, daughter Janice Rowe (Stanley) of Florida, sisters-in-law Ruth Slade and Clara Robinson, five grandsons, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her loyal friends Tracy Barret, Noela Boisvert, and Connie Radziejewski. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law Jeanne and Timothy Flynn, and her younger siblings Chester Slade, Flora Lowe. and Alfred Slade. Memorial information: At the request of the family, there are no formal funeral services scheduled at this time, and burial will take place later at the family's convenience. • Graveside committal services for Alta E. Barber will be conducted Friday, May 13, at 1 p.m., in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery in Brattleboro. Mrs. Barber, a longtime resident of Brattleboro, died Sept. 20, 2021 in Bartlesville, Okla.
• A funeral Mass for Marcel H.S. Leclaire Sr. will be held Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m., at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Brattleboro. Committal rites and burial with military honors will follow in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery. Mr. Leclaire, of Brattleboro, died on April 25, 2022 after a period of declining health. • Graveside committal services with full military honors for Herbert S. “Herb” Meyer will be conducted Saturday, May 21, at 11 a.m., in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery on Orchard Street in Brattleboro. Following the graveside services, a celebration of his life will be held at American Legion Post 5 on Linden Street starting at noon, where a light lunch will follow.
