All Souls Church presents photo exhibit by Frantz

WEST BRATTLEBORO-"Details: Fifty Years of Photography and Mobiles" by Doug Frantz will be on view at All Souls Church in the West Village Meeting House from Saturday, Sept. 7, through Oct. 29.

The public is invited to an opening reception on Sept. 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. There will also be an artist's talk, with accompanying digital slides on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m.

Frantz received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kalamazoo College, and since then has been learning what he knows about photography and mobiles from the larger school of life. He has taught photographic workshops in Guilford and Stowe, and has exhibited his work in Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, and Michigan.

First published in 1976, and most recently in 2023, his work was represented in an exhibit and subsequent book, In Spite of Everything, Yes (published for the Hood Museum, Dartmouth), which also includes work by renowned photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson, Eliot Porter, Dorothea Lange, and Paul Caponigro, among others.

The West Village Meeting house is at 29 South St., in West Brattleboro. For more information and exhibit hours, email allsoulsvtart@gmail.com, or call 802-254-9377.
