According to GMP, this work is part of a large-scale initiative across Windham County to transition overhead power lines to underground infrastructure. The goal of this project is to improve reliability and reduce the frequency of power outages in rural neighborhoods, particularly during severe storms.

Motorists traveling on Ames Hill should expect short traffic delays. Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zone for the safety of crews and travelers. This project is expected to last into the fall. The town will be providing weekly updates on ongoing travel restrictions and project progress.
