Under the Maple presents Dearest Dear on Sept. 13

BRATTLEBORO-Under the Maple presents the duo Dearest Dear for an outdoor concert Saturday, Sept. 13, at 4 p.m.

Rooted in the musical traditions of New England, Dearest Dear presents traditional tunes from Ireland, New England, Québec, and France, and craft vocal harmonies for age-old songs with modern relevance.

Rose Jackson (fiddle, vocals), draws her sound from her upbringing in the folk scene of western Massachusetts, grounded in her "deep love of old repertoire" and her experience touring festivals with bands Polaris and Stove Dragon, according to her website.

Helen Kuhar (guitar, vocals, harmonium) hails from Cambridge, Massachusetts, and can be found hosting Irish sessions around the greater Boston area, accompanying traditional musicians from across the region and playing for contra dances around the country.

Together, Dearest Dear offers stories, melodies, and lyrics with their intent to "unite all in shared humanity."

Reservations are required and can be made by emailing brattleborohouseconcerts@gmail.com. Visit facebook.com/UnderTheMaple for more information.
