Confessions from Antifa, an old and venerable organization

BRATTLEBORO-Following is an open letter - a confessional - to President Donald Trump:

Recently, you declared, in your unrivaled wisdom, "Antifa" to be an actual organization with terrorist intent. It is with an overwhelming sense of patriotic xenophobia that I feel compelled to confess that I may be the actual president, chief financial officer, and director of alumni relations of "Antifa."

May I further disclose that we are an old and venerable organization with countless members here and throughout the world.

How old? Well, our first recorded members were from the Paleolithic age, and they developed stone tools and weapons to secure against invading hordes.

We are also proud to acknowledge the enslaved pyramid builders as among our membership as well. Our alumni span the ages and geography.

The motion of world history, Mr. President, is described by conflict between the oppressed and the oppressor, the propertied and the property-less. This historical process has always defined the concept of "Antifa."

Our "members" have been on the front lines of the epic struggles against imperialism, racism, sexism, and classism, and they have resisted all forms of intolerance over these millennia.

So, consistent with your grasp on reality, you don't get it, do you, Mr. President.

I curiously and patiently await the judgment of your Justice Department as to the proper disposition of my case.
