Rod MacDonald and Mark Dann to perform in house concert

BRATTLEBORO-Brattleboro House Concerts continues its Under the Maple series with Rod MacDonald and Mark Dann on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m.

MacDonald was a big part of the 1980s folk revival in Greenwich Village, where he headlined the local clubs, co-founded the GV (Greenwich Village) Folk Festival, and wrote "American Jerusalem," "Every Living Thing," "White Buffalo" and "A Sailor's Prayer," among his songs recorded by Shawn Colvin, Jonathan Edwards, Happy Traum, The Crimson Pirates, and many more.

With Dann as bassist since 1977, this duo has co-produced 13 of his 14 albums, including his latest, Rants And Romance. Dann has also produced more than 200 other artists and played bass on dozens of albums and tours.

Their performance of MacDonald's guitar, tenor vocals, and songs both romantic and editorial with Dann's bass is captured in the 2017 Live in Germany as seen on YouTube and other streaming sites.

There is a suggested donation of $20 to $30 at the door, with 100% going to the performers. Any amount is welcome, and no one will be turned away. Reservations are required at BrattleboroHouseConcerts@gmail.com.

Under the Maple presents concerts at a private home in Brattleboro, focusing on folk and traditional acoustic music. Address and further details are sent with the reservation confirmation. Learn more at facebook.com/UnderTheMaple.
