St. Mary's in the Mountains offers free Thanksgiving dinners

WILMINGTON-On Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, between 2 and 3 p.m., St. Mary's in the Mountains Episcopal Church, 13 East Main St., will offer free turkey dinners.

The meals are "Grab and Go" for those who are in need or alone. People from throughout the Deerfield Valley are invited by community volunteers to this yearly event.

Turkeys have been provided by Christa and John Gannon, with side dishes by members of St. Mary's, Rotary, the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Deerfield Valley Campus, and members of the community.

Those who wish to help out by providing a side dish of stuffing, mashed potatoes, string beans, or carrots should call Ward at 802-464-8480.

To reserve a dinner, call 802-464-8480 and leave a message for Dick Ward. State the number of meals needed and a phone number so they can confirm the order. Dinners may be picked up on Thanksgiving Day at the side door of the church between 2 and 3 p.m. Ordering early is encouraged.
