• Timothy Joseph "Tim" Alexander, 66, of East Dummerston. Died peacefully Nov. 15, 2025, at the Jack Byrne Palliative Care Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, after a lengthy period of declining health. A lifelong "true" Vermonter, Tim was born in Bellows Falls on Feb. 24, 1959, the son of Richard and Lorraine (McClary) Alexander. He was raised in the surrounding Brattleboro area, primarily Dummerston, and graduated from Brattleboro Union High School with the Class of 1977. Over the years, Tim had resided in Vernon, Brattleboro, Guilford, and Dummerston, making many friends along the way - with very strong ties to Orleans County as well. Tim was the owner of Home Security Service (HSS), a security systems business his father established and Tim transformed with his own integrity, skill, and heart. He poured himself into the work, elevating the company through honesty, craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing things properly - values he defined and lived by. In later years, he worked side-by-side with his son, "Tim 2," passing down the knowledge, care, and pride that made the business truly theirs. Tim was a teacher at his core, gentle in his guidance and generous with the lessons he had learned. An ardent outdoorsman, Tim found joy and peace at his family camp on Crystal Lake in Barton. He cherished the sunsets, the wildlife that wandered through, and the quiet moments he often captured in photographs and shared with friends and family. His love for the outdoors extended to hunting, fishing, ATV riding, and maple sugaring with both the Cutting family in Guilford and the Evans family in Dummerston. He was also a longtime member of the Southern Vermont Trail Riders. All this was woven into the fabric of his life. On Aug. 30, 1986, in Vernon, Tim exchanged wedding vows with Dale Mattson in a small, intimate ceremony among immediate family and close friends. Family was at the heart of his life. His love, patience, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all whom were fortunate enough to know him. Tim is survived by his son, Timothy R. Alexander of Vernon; his daughter, Jaimee Mattson Alexander and her longtime partner, Joshua Anderson of Keene, New Hampshire; his daughter-in-law, Danielle Alexander of Vernon; and his sister, Linda Alexander of Brattleboro. He also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren - Drew Alexander, Ryan Alexander, Hailee Mattson, Julie Anderson, and Jaeden Anderson - and one great-granddaughter, Laura Thomas, all who brought him great joy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and generous spirit. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Diane Young. To all those he loved, taught, or guided along the way, Tim would offer one final familiar farewell: "OUT!" Memorial information: A celebration of his life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles on Chickering Drive in Brattleboro on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friends and family are invited to calling hours at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home in Brattleboro on Friday, Dec. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. Tim will be laid to rest next to his parents and grandparents in St. Charles Cemetery in Bellows Falls. • Doug Bover, 78, of Groton, formerly of Brattleboro. Died Oct. 31, 2025, of complications related to pancreatic cancer. Born in Brattleboro on May 4, 1947, Doug exhibited an interest for both the visual arts and music at an early age. During his time in high school, Doug played bass and guitar professionally at numerous venues in Vermont. Doug earned a B.A. in industrial design at Pratt Institute in New York. While at Pratt, Doug developed an expertise in engineering and creating electronic art. After marrying his wife, Lynne, together they moved to Massachusetts in 1974 when the Route 128 corridor was at the forefront of computer technology. Doug joined Digital Corporation as a test engineer and was later a software engineer at Cascade/Ascend/Lucent Corporation. Seeking a change, Doug left the corporate world to further pursue his love for music and the arts. He provided sound engineering for numerous local bands. Additionally, he repaired amps, guitars, microphones, and other musical equipment for a wide range of musicians who appreciated Doug's expertise and precision. There was nothing Doug could not fix - he loved the challenge of figuring out the intricacies of any musical instrument and technology. Doug's love for the arts continued into his retirement; he created unique light sculptures, graphic designs, and animations for various clients. He especially enjoyed playing music with his sons, Michael and Ben; his grandson, Leo; his nephew; and friends. During the past two years, he was blessed with the birth of his grandson and granddaughter, which brought him tremendous joy. Wherever Doug traveled, whether locally or afar, people were drawn to his warmth and terrific sense of humor. He respected and saw the goodness in everyone he met. Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Lynne; his sons, Michael and Benjamin; his grandson, Leo; his granddaughter, Cecilia; and remaining siblings, Raymond Bover and Ann Reed.
