Groups to discuss impacts of federal rollbacks, cuts

BRATTLEBORO-The Public Assets Institute, Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG), and Planned Parenthood will host a presentation on what they call “the unprecedented challenges posed by federal rollbacks and cuts,” on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 5 on Linden Street.

These groups have been presenting their data at meetings all across Vermont to inform residents about changes and what they mean for working families and at-risk communities.

The panel of experts at the Brattleboro event will “demystify the so-called ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ and empower voters with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to help their neighbors and to advocate for actions that will protect our communities from the worst effects of this legislation,” organizers said.

At the event, there will be opportunities to dive into the details of the bill, to identify action steps for how Vermont can protect its most vulnerable residents, and to ask questions about how this legislation, and recent federal actions more broadly, will affect Vermont communities.
