Opening reception of the Dummerston School Student Art exhibit at Historical Society

DUMMERSTON-The Dummerston Historical Society announces the opening reception of the Dummerston School Student Art exhibit, featuring works by approximately 25 students in first, fourth, fifth and eighth grades, Sunday, Feb. 1, between 1 and 3 p.m.

At 1:30 p.m., Benjamin Ferguson, who has served as the art teacher at Dummerston School since 2019, will give a short presentation on the exhibit. He says he is dedicated to introducing students to notable artists, teaching a wide range of artistic techniques, and nurturing their creative growth.

In addition, the society's current exhibit, "Dummerston Black Mountain Granite Quarries" is on display, along with a video of George Kohout's recent presentation full of photos and information about Dummerston's quarries.

Students are especially invited to attend and participate. Families are welcome, as is the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Dummerston Historical Society is in Dummerston Center, adjacent to the Town Office. It is accessible and all are invited to visit at no charge. For more information, contact Gail at 802-490-0728 or gailsvt@gmail.com.
