Guilford Center Stage auditions Feb. 5, 7

GUILFORD-Open auditions for actors for Guilford Center Stage's spring production, "Shorts," will be held in two sessions, Thursday, Feb. 5, and Saturday, Feb. 7 at Broad Brook Community Center, 3940 Guilford Center Rd., about 4 miles west of the Country Store

The show opens the theater group's 11th season. The Thursday session will be from 5 to 7 p.m.; auditions on Saturday will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. No appointment is needed.

"Shorts" is a program of short plays, running from about five to 15 minutes in length, by playwrights from the area and beyond. There are roles for actors age 18 to 80, male, female, and gender neutral.

Performances will be April 30 through May 3. Auditioners may come unprepared, or have a short monologue ready. Scenes from the short plays will be available for impromptu cold reading.

Center Stage is also welcoming possible tech people, who either have, or want to learn, stage lighting and sound skills. Auditions take place in the fully accessible upstairs theater room of the Broad Brook Community Center. Those unable to make the auditions, or with questions, may contact producer Don McLean at don.inscape@gmail.com.
