‘I don’t believe this system works’

BRATTLEBORO-It was a great honor to become a Representative Town Meeting (RTM) member for District 7 last year. I was looking forward to contributing to solutions instead of sitting on the sidelines doing nothing.

The experience was both educational and informative, but it also left me deflated and discouraged. I don’t believe this system works for the majority of our tax-paying citizens and community members.

It came to my attention late last year that on Tuesday, March 3, we can vote to change the way our town is represented and replace RTM with an Australian ballot.

After speaking with family and friends, along with fellow representative members, it was unanimous that this is the new direction Brattleboro needs to take.

RTM used to work. It no longer serves our town.

Every single person should have a voice in how we finance our services and how those services are paid. It’s our tax money, and everyone should get a vote.

One person.

One vote.
