CHESTER-To the people of Minnesota:
Your presence on the streets of Minneapolis, and the tragic losses you have suffered, bring to the minds of us New Englanders the patriots of Lexington and Concord.
Millions of others who believe in your struggle are standing strong with you but you, amazing people of Minneapolis, are at the center of the struggle right now.
Each of us will be next unless as a people we stand with you and declare as Thomas Paine did 250 years ago that it is “in unity, that our great strength lies.” The Declaration of Independence declared that “Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive [...] it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it.”
The reign of terror being inflicted upon you is unconscionable and must be stopped. Let us all join together to form a more perfect union for our times, one where compassion, community, courage, and dignity are guiding principles rather than arrogance, corruption, and disregard for human rights.
