BRATTLEBORO-I have known Amanda Thurber-Ellis well for many years, when her focus was on running the multi-generation family dairy farm with her husband, Ross. That takes grit, commitment, and no small degree of ingenuity and creative problem-solving.
More recently, the town has been benefitting as she applied those qualities and skills to her work on the Selectboard.
Amanda is a passionate, and compassionate, advocate for affordability, moderation, and balance and for positioning Brattleboro for a positive economic future. She understands that reducing the tax burden must be done not only through prudent budgeting, but also by driving economic growth to increase revenue.
She engages in this public discussion thoughtfully and with respect and civility.
We need more of that - and at least three more years of her.
