Evans-Frantz: truly listening to all

Note: I am writing in my personal capacity, not on behalf of the organization I work for or any other affiliations.

BRATTLEBORO-I care about Brattleboro a whole lot - as a 20-year resident, a leader of various nonprofits and community organizing efforts over the years, a participant in the local music scene, and a new parent - and I see Isaac Evans-Frantz as the Selectboard candidate to take us in the right direction at this pivotal moment.

Isaac is dedicated to working for the benefit of our entire community. He brings a positive energy and a commitment to responsible budgeting to keep Brattleboro affordable.

What has struck me most, however, is Isaac's commitment to civil discourse and his ability to truly listen to people, including and especially those who are not always at the decision-making table.

When I learned that Isaac was visiting community center 69A regularly to meet with folks, including people who have been or are unhoused, I thought: "And that is what a public official does."

You go meet people where they are, have real conversations, truly listen to their concerns, and let that inform your priorities and decisions. Isaac wasn't going to 69A with an agenda. He was going to engage in real conversation.

Isaac's commitment to civil discourse benefits Selectboard meetings as well, where he can help take down the temperature and make sure that all voices have their minutes at the microphone.

Please join me in re-electing Isaac Evans-Frantz on Tuesday, March 3.
