BMAC hosts April 8 mixer for Windham County educators

BRATTLEBORO-The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center (BMAC) invites local educators to a mixer at the museum on Wednesday, April 8, 5 to 7 p.m.

Windham County preschool and K–12 teachers, school administrators, staff, paraprofessionals, and coaches are invited to stop by for a complimentary drink, free appetizers, live music, a cash bar, and the opportunity to check out BMAC’s six new exhibits that opened on March 21.

Guests will also have the opportunity to see the beginning stages of a sand mandala being constructed in the BMAC galleries by Tibetan monk Lama Tenzin Yignyen.

“Much of our work at BMAC involves partnering with schools and teachers, so we see firsthand how hard they work and how often they go above and beyond,” BMAC Manager of Education Programs Kate Milliken said in a news release. “Windham County educators are shaping the next generation of Vermonters, and we want them to know how much we appreciate them.”

BMAC’s involvement with Windham County schools and teachers includes a program sending teaching artists into 17 Head Start classrooms, hosting dozens of school field trips to the museum, serving as Vermont’s statewide affiliate for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and offering kid-friendly programs like Glasstastic, Sucka Punch Graffiti Jam, the annual Domino Toppling Extravaganza, and Lego Contest & Exhibit.

Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. To register, visit brattleboromuseum.org or call 802-257-0124 x101.
