BRATTLEBORO-The Brattleboro Union High School (BUHS) Players announce their upcoming spring play, Alice in Wonderland, adapted for the stage by Eva Le Gallienne and Florida Friebus, adapted from Lewis Carroll, with music by Richard Addinsell. Performances will be held on April 17 and 18, at 7 p.m., in the BUHS Auditorium.
The audience will “join Alice down the rabbit hole as she discovers the magic of Wonderland. Animals speak in riddles, nonsense makes sense, and the adventures of young Alice reveal her pluck, intelligence, and imagination,” wrote organizers in a news release.
This adaptation contains elements of Lewis Carroll’s novel of the same name, as well as the book’s sequel, Through the Looking Glass.
The cast features Dakota Von Feldt in the role of Alice, Vera Muratori-Kirk as the White Rabbit, Iz Allen as the Red Queen, and Elise Denaples-Hiler as the White Queen. The ensemble is made up of Michael Auerbach, Luca Barkow, Nora Berenguel, Jaidyn Denny, Jason Donahue, Ivana Greening, Naveen Lalanne, Cameron Matthews, Madelyn Martinez, Keller Millman, Melia Rose, Dakota Von Feldt, Estella Walker, and Braylan Wilkins.
The show is directed by Michelle Page with Bob Thies as music director and Maria Pugnetti as the technical director. Jason Donahue, Luke Krasnow, and Alex Ostroski serve as the stage managers. The tech and costume crews include Rei Carpenter- Ranquist, Alli Cleveland, Vivian Elliott, Lightning Knudson, Lotte Kurowski, Molly Ollis, and Dylan Taylor.
Tickets are $10 each and BUHS students and staff are eligible for one free ticket. Tickets can be purchased in advance at bit.ly/861-Alice, or at the box office. ASL interpretation will be available during both performances of Alice in Wonderland.
