Postal carriers will ‘carry out’ food drive

BRATTLEBORO-On the second Saturday in May — May 9 this year — letter carriers and rural letter carriers throughout the region will be “carrying out” the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, an annual one-day food drive with nationwide scope and local impact.

We ask all who are able to join us in participating. Simply leave a bag of nonperishable food items by your mailbox or drop it at your post office. Healthy and high-protein donations are encouraged. No glass containers, please.

Our partners — Vermont Foodbank, Putney Food Shelf, Bread of Life Food Shelf in Vernon, and others — will distribute your donations to those in need.

Checks made out to Vermont Foodbank will also be accepted.

Thank you for helping us care for our neighbors!
