Kindle Farm School hosts plant sale
TOWNSHEND — Kindle Farm School’s annual plant sale takes place at their farm stand on Route 30 Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Shoppers will find an array of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, including an assortment of hot crops like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, as well as onions, brassicas, lettuce, and other leafy greens. Also available this year are elderberry cuttings and perennial veggies including kales, sylvetta arugula, and broad-leaved sorrel. Proceeds support Kindle Farm’s vocational program.
Plant sale in Brookline
BROOKLINE — A plant sale to benefit the 1836 Brookline Historic Meetinghouse restoration project will be held Saturday, May 30, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Held at 632 Grassy Brook Rd., this will be the sixth year of the event, which also features raffle prizes. Donations of plants for the sale should be left on the church steps Friday afternoon, May 29.
Stone House museum opens for season
CHESTERFIELD, N.H. — The Chesterfield Historical Society is kicking off the season for the Stone House Tavern Museum with a special event Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring period piece clothing and textiles on exhibit.
There will also be a demonstration by Emily Stringham, professional seamstress from “At The Sign of the Golden Scissors: Accurate Goods for the 18th Century Living Historian.”
Come take a free guided tour of the Stone House Tavern Museum, which is complete with a ballroom, cage room, and third floor quarters for stagecoach drivers. Seasonal historical displays will also be offered. The museum is located at the intersection of Routes 9 and 63.
Donations sought for RFPL plant sale
BELLOWS FALLS — The Friends of the Rockingham Free Library Plant Sale is coming Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., and they need generous gardeners to donate plants and starters from their gardens for the sale.
Bring donations to Pat and Alan Fowler’s front porch at 45 Green St. from Wednesday, June 3, until Friday, June 5, or leave them at the library, 65 Westminster St., from 8 to a.m. on June 6. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Friends and the various library programs they help fund.
Guilford Historical Museum opens June 6
GUILFORD — Come celebrate local history as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary, as the Guilford Historical Society Museum, 4063 Guilford Center Rd. (just down the street from the Guilford Free Library), opens for the 2026 season.
There will be hot dogs, popcorn, and Blueberry Haus ice cream, along with tours of the museum and historic Meeting House. Activities include a “museum scavenger hunt” with prizes and fun for all ages).
The Guilford History Museum will be open and staffed on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon through the summer.
‘Walk for Amber’ marks its 20th year
BRATTLEBORO — The 20th annual Walk for Amber takes place Sunday, June 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walkers should meet at the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital parking lot, 17 Belmont Ave. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the 5-mile walk starts at 11 a.m.
There will be a raffle for two Boston Red Sox box seat tickets (third Base Side, Section 137, row HH) for a Sunday, July 26, game against the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park. Raffle tickets will be available at or before the event for $10 each or three for $20; you do not need to be present to win
