Special Town Meeting will consider facilities, planning

BROOKLINE-As part of the Brookline Selectboard’s 2026 Building Planning Initiative, Brookline voters are invited to attend a Special Town Meeting Saturday, June 20, at 9 a.m. in the Multipurpose Room in the former Brookline School Building, 624 Grassy Brook Rd.

The meeting will include articles related to town facilities and future planning, including:

• Article 1: A proposed Town Garage improvement project to build covered bays to expand storage capacity, install a cement floor, and add covered equipment storage.

• Article 2: A vote to allow Australian ballot voting on future 2026 public questions concerning town buildings. This is to give the town flexibility during possible voting on potential scenarios developed by the new Building Use Workgroup.

The Selectboard and Building Use Workgroup will provide an update at the meeting on ongoing work to develop and evaluate options for future building use for community consideration.

All Brookline voters are encouraged to attend, participate, and stay informed as the town works to plan responsibly for the future of its public buildings and infrastructure.
