PUTNEY-Twilight Music and Next Stage Arts Project continue the 23rd Twilight On The Tavern Lawn series of folk, world, jazz, zydeco, bluegrass, pop, and Americana music summer concerts Sunday, Aug. 9, at 6 p.m., with Planet Zydeco.
Hailing from New England, Planet Zydeco brings the music of southwest Louisiana dance halls. Band members Cannon, Bonita, Alan, Michelle, Jack, and Mark are steeped in the genre. They say they “love sharing this infectious music with the planet” on accordion, rubboard, fiddle, guitar, bass, and drums. This summer, the band will be featured in the dance tent at the prestigious Rhythm & Roots music festival in Rhode Island.
The concert series continues every other Sunday through Aug. 23 in downtown Putney on the Putney Tavern lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) or at Next Stage, 15 Kimball Hill, in case of rain.
