Bank hosts school supply drive

BRATTLEBORO-Brattleboro Savings & Loan (BS&L) is collecting school supplies - such as new pencils, paper, and markers, as well as backpacks and lunchboxes - to donate to local kids for this upcoming school year.

Through Saturday, Aug. 22, customers can take new supplies and leave them in drop-off boxes in any of the bank's branches: 221 Main St. and 972 Putney Rd. in Brattleboro, 108 E. Main St. in Wilmington, and 59 Vt. Route 30 in Bondville.

The supplies will then be distributed to area schools where needs have been identified.

"Last year's drive brought real relief to students and families in southeastern Vermont, and the bank hopes to make an even greater impact this year," the bank said in the news release.

"Vermont is such a great place to raise a family," BS&L Branch Manager Jon Blouin said in a news release. "However, not everyone can afford what their child needs to do their best in school. That's why this drive is something we do each year."
