BAJC offers programs for youths this fall

WEST BRATTLEBORO-Brattleboro Area Jewish Community (BAJC) announces youth programming for the 2026–2027 school year. BAJC offers three age-specific programs:

• Chaverim, grades K–7: Creates Jewish community and celebrates the cycle of the Jewish year. This “joyous Jewish family community” meets twice per month during the school year. Highlights include holiday celebrations, puppet shows, arts and crafts, singing, baking in our outdoor oven, family Shabbat services, and Hebrew language learning. There is also a pre-b’nai mitzvah track for interested older students. Registration is required; scholarships are available. The first session is at the end of August, so contact ASAP if interested in joining.

• Tot Shabbat, birth–age 6: Young children and their parents are invited for an evening of child-focused Shabbat including music, movement, kiddush, and pizza. Monthly, by donation; RSVP.

• Teen program, grades 7–12: Regional teens meet four times per year for learning and fun. They eat dinner in the sukkah, bake hamantaschen, visit elders in the community—all while creating Jewish community with other area teens. Participants may come to all four sessions or drop into just one. Open to people outside the BAJC community. Registration is required.

To learn more about these education programs, contact Rebecca at rebecca@bajcvermont.org.

The mission of Brattleboro Area Jewish Community, Congregation Shir Heharim (“Song of the Mountains”) is “to provide a context and structure for people to be Jewish together in a rural environment. This community fosters Jewish pride and identity by participating together in religious, spiritual, educational, social, and cultural experiences.”

BAJC welcomes anyone interested in participating and learning. Learn more at bajcvermont.org. Registration fees are kept low with support from The Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
